AI Auto-Layout

AI Auto-Layout is a named item in Flux’s own product chrome. The homepage layout stage says the AI places parts and routes with awareness of your constraints, then hands you a layout you can still edit. That is the opposite of a one-click board you cannot touch.

I would use it after the schematic is something I would defend in a review, not as a way to skip the schematic. Keep-outs, height limits, and “do not put the inductor under the antenna” still belong to me. Docs also warn that Copilot’s layout understanding is currently limited compared with schematic work. I read that as: useful placement help, not a replacement for a layout specialist on a nasty stackup.

If you are coming from KiCad or Altium, remember layout import is not on the FAQ I read. Auto-layout in Flux is for boards that already live in Flux.
